This competency-based knowing system covers the administrative, scientific, and basic areas necessary for entry-level work as identified by the medical assistant role delineation study issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants. A listing of role delineation locations in each unit and in Appendix A make it easy to find particular skills within each competency. An unit on related treatments provides info on complimentary and alternative treatments.
