Computer Repair Technicians

With the advent of the computer technology the world has become a global village, everybody is dependent on the computer in day to day life. This increase in the use of computer has lead to increase in the requirement of the computer technicians in the world over. Computer technicians are the people that repair the computers, networks and servers. They are not only needed in the field of information technology but also in all the other institutes like offices, banks, colleges and universities. Many institutes are now providing certified courses in computer repairs. While employing a person or getting your computer repaired you should always check that you take services from a well reputed person

Computer repair technicians may specialize in any of the fields of their choice. The two broad fields in this regard are the hardware and software repair. Hardware of the computer includes all the parts that we can touch and see. There are many input devices like the keyboard, mouse, scanner, joystick etc. also there are many output devices like monitor, printer etc. all these parts develop certain problems that can be handled only by the technician. Many companies employ these technicians to manage and install this hardware as well to check the frequently occurring problems. They also maintain large servers and check that these servers are properly working and do not crash frequently. Different technicians specialize in different forms of hardware like desktops, laptops, mobile devices and smart phones. All of them are somewhat similar to each other but unique in certain regards

Similarly the operating system of the computer and the software may troubleshoot. Computer technicians may repair, install new software and uninstall unnecessary software from the computers. If the operating system of the computer has crashed the computer repair technicians will help you repair your computer without losing your data. This is known as the data recovery. Many of the software tools and applications have been designed to prevent the loss of the data. Even if the operating system is working the technicians can see that they fix the problem without letting the consumer lose any data. Also they have command over the settings of the various programs. This means that if the software has been installed properly you may still find problems in working with it due to problems in the settings. The software technicians may fix these problems by doing the preferred settings in the computer. Restoring the data is specialized skill that is needed in addressing the software issues. In restoration the software technician will first save your data by a data recovery tool and then format the whole hard drive. The initial settings of the operating system and the software will then be reapplied on the computer

A large number of the computer technicians are working in the public and the private sectors. More jobs are being employed daily because of growing needs of computers in various fields. Thus becoming a computer repair technician will be a worthwhile profession in future.

Major Appliance Technicians

Major Appliance Technicians

The duties of major appliance technicians are to make service calls and make repairs to major appliances in the customers’ home or business. These technicians are usually very knowledgeable about all types of appliances. They will have sufficient experience to handle most problems as they arise. They work with a minimum of supervision. On most calls they will make estimates, make the repairs, and receive payment for the work while they are there. In most instances they will plan their own work schedules. The major appliance technicians must be very good at human relations. They are responsible for a large supply of parts on their trucks as well as the necessary tools and test equipment. They must be well groomed and be physically able to do the required lifting. They must adapt to changing working conditions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLIANCE TECHNICIANS

Appearance
A neat-appearing technician will impress the customer just about as much as anything. The technician must be neat and clean. Cleanliness is important in both your appearance and your work habits. It is very desirable to keep your tools and parts in order so that they can be easily and quickly found. When you are finished with the job, be sure that the work area is left clean and neat. Wipe off the machine with a clean rag. Do not leave grease, fingerprints or handprints on the machine. A few extra minutes used for this purpose will go a long way toward customer relations in addition to making the machine look like it has been repaired. There will be very few complaints from anyone about this gesture.
Maintaining a Good
Attitude
A good attitude toward the customer, the machine, the equipment manufacturer, and your employer is very important. If you display a negative attitude toward any of these, the customer will also develop a bad attitude and them. You must always project a positive attitude, be courteous, and cheerful. Always project an impression. Be on time for the appliance repair appointment, if its made. If you are unable to make the appointment, be courageous enough to phone the customer and set up a new appointment. If you do not, and the customer must phone the company again, the customer will be very displeased with the whole job and will probably be very difficult to satisfy. Always be honest with the customer. If you are not familiar with the piece of equipment that is to be worked tell the customer. Many times you have a background mat will permit you to call upon past experience to repair the machine. If you cannot fix the machine, inform the customer and give an explanation of what you propose to do. Treat other people the way that you would want them to treat you if you were their customer.
A self-conducted tour through the customer’s home or building should not occur. Do not talk about other customers, neighbors, or the product to the customer. In most instances it is better to offer no opinion about the quality of the machine. Even if you think the customer is going to have a lot of trouble with it, do not say so.

Ultrasound Technician Schools ? Ultrasound Technicians

An ultrasound technician uses equipment that sends sound waves through a specific area of an individual’s body to form an image. Echoes from the interior of the person’s body are reflected and form a picture used to help diagnose conditions. Ultrasound technicians do more than help new mothers see their unborn babies. They may specialize in other areas of the body as well, such as the cardiovascular system, neurosonography, abdominal sonography or breast sonography.

Duties

An ultrasound technician explains the ultrasound procedure to patients and help them prepare for it. They take measurements and select good photographs to show physicians. Ultrasound technicians may also maintain and keep patient records.

Education

An ultrasound technician school may offer programs that take between a year to four years to complete. These programs are often offered at technical and vocational colleges or in community colleges. The Armed Forces and some hospitals also offer training programs. Sonography students should look for an accredited ultrasound technician school that offers significant amounts of clinical practice. Some programs prefer students who have a healthcare background. One-year programs are usually reserved for those who have a healthcare background and who want a vocational certification to perform sonography. Other programs take two or four years to finish. Classes include anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, patient care and how to use sonography equipment.

Registration

After completing a sonography course, students can choose to become registered by a professional association. This helps them gain recognition as knowledgeable professionals. They typically must pass an exam, have a certain amount of work experience and have completed a sonography course from an accredited school. One certifying organization is the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Other organizations offer body system-specific sonography certification.

Job Prospects

The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the employment of sonographers to increase by 18 percent through 2018, which is faster than average for all occupations the BLS tracks in the United States. As sonography procedures expand and sonography is used as a cheaper alternative to other procedures, employment is expected to grow. Additionally, while hospitals will continue to be the largest employer of sonographers, outpatient facilities and physicians’ offices will hire them at a higher rate.

Salary

The average annual salary of a sonographer was $ 64,900, as of May 2010, according to the BLS. The average hourly wage was $ 31.20. The 25th percentile earned up to $ 53,810 per year, or $ 25.87 per hour, and the 75th percentile earned up to $ 75,290 per year, or $ 36.20 per hour. The median yearly salary was $ 64,380, or $ 30.95 per hour. The BLS reported that the highest-paying state was Massachusetts with an annual average salary of $ 80,000, or $ 38.46 per hour, as of May 2010. The highest-paying metropolitan area in the United States was San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California with an average annual salary for sonographers of $ 100,240 per year, or $ 48.19 per hour.

You can find training programs in most mid-size or large cities. Look for ones that are accredited regionally. You might also contact the organization with which you plan to become registered after graduation to see which programs it states are reputable. Ultrasound technicians can find work in many healthcare facilities, and the need for them is growing. The salary is good, the potential to serve others is great, and the training period is relatively short, depending on what kind of certificate or degree you seek.

Find pharmacy technician school, automotive, surgical, ultrasound, Ultrasound Technician and Ultrasound Technician School, veterinary, X ray tech, dental tech, cosmetology, anesthesia, nursing, paramedic, medical billing and medical transcription schools in your own area in United States.

Ultrasound Technician Schools

One of the most in-demand careers in the medical field today is that of an ultrasound technician. When someone hears the word “ultrasound” they automatically think of pregnancy and those fuzzy images of fetuses in utero, but ultrasound technicians also assist in processing many other images, which are used in diagnosing health issues which doctors are unable to directly observe. Working in the ultrasound field also warrants an entry level income that is fairly high—around $ 80,000 a year.

Ultrasound technician schools are actually training programs offered by community colleges, four year universities, and some vocational schools, where an individual can elect to specialize in areas of sonography (ultrasound) such as obstetric, abdominal, nervous system and cardiology. Training within these programs involve clinical knowledge of the ultrasound procedure and internships which give the student the opportunity actually to practice on patients and gain experience in the real world. An ultrasound technician could also choose to enroll in advanced ultrasound technician schools, which offer instruction in medical office assisting and various administrative skills.

Fundamental topics of an ultrasound technician program which are taught both in lecture and laboratory include physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, principles of ultrasound technology (Doppler Effect), and even basic physics. Disinfecting procedures, good communication skills, and the application of ethical systems to the health care field are also discussed in an accredited program. Although an ultrasound technician primarily administers the ultrasound, he is not qualified to read and offer diagnoses of ultrasound scans. However, with enough experience as an ultrasound technician, he or she may become proficient at interpreting a scan without further education.

An internship at a local hospital or other relevant medical facility is usually taken by the student when he or she is finished with the program, where they can train under the supervision of a certified ultrasound technician or even a doctor. As something apportioned by the school, this unpaid work experience will run around 950 hours or roughly forty hours a week for six months. If the student completes this internship and receives at least a satisfactory rating from his or her supervisor, then he will be able to take an examination which will grant a certificate or diploma qualifying him to be a professional ultrasound technician who can legally practice his trade.

Most ultrasound technician schools operate in the same manner but may differ slightly in the way coursework is taught and completed. A few of these programs will emphasize the instrumental and technological aspect of ultrasound; others, while satisfactorily teaching you the operation of an ultrasound machine, will accentuate the importance of successful communication with patients, nurses, doctors, and others which you may work alongside in a medical facility. Depending on which you prefer to study, you will need to research the curriculum offered by the many different educational institutions to find out what they are offering. Making an appointment with a guidance counselor will also assist you in making the right choice regarding the right school and program for you.

Ultrasound Technician Training

Ultrasound technology has the ability to detect abnormalities within the human body in less than several minutes, and is extensively used in monitoring unborn fetuses, blood clots, tumorous growths, and many other medical problems. Doctors and surgeons are more apt to choose ultrasound to identify medical issues that need immediate attention over other techniques such as x-rays because ultrasound is much safer and delivers sharper, more precise pictures that have to be correctly interpreted. Ultrasound technicians operate something called a “transducer” which transmits high frequency sound waves through a person’s body. These waves will hit a certain internal organ or area of the body, bounce off that region of the body which the doctor wants to more closely examine, and send these echoes to the ultrasound equipment which changes them into a visual picture that will be interpreted by a diagnostic physician.

If you are searching for information regarding ultrasound technician training, here are some important things you should be aware of before enrolling in a training program. As a skilled sonogram technician, you will be eligible to earn approximately $ 25 to $ 30 an hour, for a yearly income total of around $ 84,000. Naturally, new ultrasound technician’s fresh from their training begin earning wages in the amount of $ 38,000 but quickly move up the pay scale as they accumulate experience and expertise in their field. As a member of an ultrasound technician training course, you should educate yourself about the background of the program. Is the program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or other accrediting organizations? Does the program lean more towards teaching about the technical aspects of the ultrasound or towards showing you how to interpret ultrasound images within a medical facility such as a hospital or health care station? Can you apply for financial aid, scholarships or work study grants? What is the success rate of students graduating from this particular ultrasound technician training program at this school?

Several options will be available regarding the degree level of each program, such as a one-year certificate, a two-year associate’s degree, or a four-year bachelor’s degree. It may be helpful to already have an educational background emphasizing science or computer technology, as well as hands-on experience in the medical field when applying to certain ultrasound technician training programs. If you are already working in the healthcare field, you might consider enrolling in an ultrasound course since developing another area of expertise would work to your advantage and increase you wage earning power.

Most students opt to take the associates degree in an ultrasound technician certification program, which will allow them to begin making anywhere from $ 50,000-$ 60,000 as a first year technician. The opportunities in the job market for an ultrasound technician are quickly becoming limitless due to the need and usefulness of this advanced medical diagnostic tool. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has claimed that the field of ultrasound execution and interpretation will expand by almost 20% by the year 2016, a more rapid rate than the expected growth of many other careers.

Any blood draw leaves behind an important history A blood draw will be logged permanently into someone’s medical record. So you must be extremely detail oriented.

The Steps To Becoming a Phlebotomist
If phlebotomy sounds interesting, you should go ahead and take phlebotomy classes. A price-effective option is to enroll at a community college. A community college program takes several months, but will prepare you to sit for a certification exam. After taking classes and performing live blood draws, you have earned eligibility for certification. Phlebotomy certification makes a huge difference when searching for jobs. A well-trained phlebotomist is a must, and employers will take not of your distinction.

Step 1: Explore your Career Options

A reading of reports from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics(or BLS) shows that lab technicians [were expected to see good job growth from 2008-2018.|have high expected growth in jobs from 2008-2012.|will see very high increases in job opportunities from 2008-2012.) To be precise, the projected numbers were an increase of 25,000 jobs(a 16% increase). While testing becomes more automated, phlebotomists shouldn’t be concerned since large amounts of blood usually need to be drawn by a person. Technicians saw an average annual salary of $ 38,190 in 2010. According to Salary.com, you can expect $ 29,286 as the median salary.

Step 2: Finish High School

You must have your high school degree(or a GED) in order to become a phlebotomist. There are no required courses in high school, but consider taking biology and health to help your training.

Step 3: Enroll in a Community College

You have multiple options for phlebotomy training. Several community colleges have a curriculum with a phlebotomy certification program. These programs teach you the basics to working in a laboratory, essential safety practices and the circulatory system. Many offer Associate Degrees in Clinical Laboratory Technology. In these programs, you cover hematology, microbiology, anatomy, immunology, and urinalysis.

Step 4: Finish Clinicals

Some of your training will be during your education. Most programs, especially associate degrees, require you to complete a clinical practicum with a laboratory. This means you must perform a required number of blood draws while in the program. These venipunctures must be supervised and be completed on real patients.

Step 5: Earn Phlebotomist Certification

Certification is helpful for career advancement, but careful research is necessary because reputable and disreputable organizations both claim to certify phlebotomists.

Phlebotomy Training – Guarantee Yourself a Successful Career With the Right Training

Are you considering becoming a Phlebotomist? If yes, then you need to undergo a lot of rigorous phlebotomy training. Here is a concise yet informative guide to enlighten you about some of key issues involved in phlebotomy training.

In order to become an efficient phlebotomist you must concentrate on five key areas. These include:

1. Human Anatomy

One of the main aspects of phlebotomy training is getting to familiarize yourself with the human body. This means that you must be well aware of the cardiovascular system, veins and arteries. Since drawing blood samples is one of the duties you will be performing quite often, you should start training to do this fast and accurately.

2. Safe Management of Specimen

A trainee Phlebotomist is has to learn how to handle or deal with the collected blood samples. Nowadays, there are so many blood borne diseases such as HIV and AIDS that one can never be too careful of. Thus, you must train to be extra careful around these bodily fluids. Develop the habit of keeping safe by wearing gloves, sterilizing equipment, and disposing of used needles.

3. Precise Needle Techniques

Not everyone has a strong stomach for blood; some even faint at the sight of using needles. As part of your phlebotomy training, you will learn how to handle needles in the most efficient and professional way, i.e. while trying to cause as minimal discomfort as possible to the patients. This involves a lot of practice in order to reduce any chances of mistakes or complicating things even further.

4. Accurate Record Keeping

Learning to use needles and draw blood is not enough. You must also master the art of Record Keeping. This involves a certain degree of discipline and a lot of patience. You should make sure of collecting blood samples carefully and then labeling and cataloging them professionally as well. Writing correctly plays just an important role here-if a sample is not labeled properly, the patient may be misdiagnosed and treated with the wrong medicines. Thus, as part of your phlebotomy training, you must learn to pay attention to such details.

5. Patient Affinity

No matter how skillful you are at collecting blood samples, you will never be able to succeed at your job unless you are empathic and know how to comfort or console the patient. Thus, it is always advisable to have compassion for the patient and try to make the blood drawing quick and painless.

After mastering these five main areas of phlebotomy training, you can surely look forward to a promising career ahead of you.

Medicine and related science fields are continuously evolving – everyday, new discoveries are made that have a direct impact on techniques and methods used; for example, phlebotomy techniques. Just like any medical technique, phlebotomy techniques are constantly changing and refining themselves with the use of new technology and new tools. Veinlite is currently starting a new revolution related to the art of phlebotomy by introducing a range of specialized tools that will surely help simplify blood draws and will also help obtain more accurate results. With Veinlite’s new products, vein imaging is now made easy, which is an important part of phlebotomy.

Phlebotomy is explained as being the art of drawing blood and collecting blood samples. For the past 100 years, phlebotomy techniques have greatly evolved and changed, with the constant introduction of new methods, new tools and instruments and of course, an incredible amount of research. It has now become a very basic thing to draw blood out of a patient, most of the time, but issues may arise when it becomes harder to identify veins and have a good view of blood vessels. For that very reason, Veinlite has come up with a line of tools that will help facilitate vein imaging, which will definitely have a great impact on phlebotomy techniques.

The Veinlite LED is perhaps considered to be the most powerful pocket transilluminator on the market at this moment. This instrument features 24 LEDs and a lithium rechargeable battery for maximum use and power. Its pocket size is certainly a great advantage for many busy professionals and sometimes messy offices and exam rooms. The Veinlite LED also comes with a paediatrics adapter, which makes it perfect for use on all patients, whether children or adults. With the Veinlite LED, phlebotomists will certainly be able to perform vein imaging and blood samples on any patient without any possible issue.

Veinlite also offers other pocket transilluminator such as the Veinlite Pedi, which is perfect for use on neonates, newborns and babies. This instrument features 12 colored LEDs and uses a lithium battery to maximise its usage. The Veinlite EMS, on the other hand, is the regular transilluminator; comes in a pocket size, features 16 colored LEDs and is also equipped with a lithium battery. The EMS can also be used on both adults and children.

With such state of the art instruments and products, Veinlite surely has established itself as a leader in vein imaging technology. Phlebotomy techniques will certainly be facilitated by the use of any Veinlite product, as they are all manufactured in the goal of offering better access and view of blood vessels and major veins on patients. Whether it is with the Veinlite EMS, Veinlite LED or any other product from Veinlite, phlebotomists and other health professionals will have an easier task when it comes to blood sampling and vein imaging.
