Obtain Professional Honda Technician Training From Centennial

When it comes to automobiles, Honda is regarded as one of the most innovative and eco-friendly makers.

If you’re interested in becoming an automotive service technician and specializing in Acura and Honda products, Centennial College in Toronto offers a perfect program to get you started. Their Automotive Service Technician Acura/Honda Apprenticeship program provides you the best of both worlds: classroom training and work experience with an Acura/Honda employer.

Centennial’s program is considered a modified apprenticeship program or MAP. Unlike traditional apprenticeship programs that require you to obtain employment before you can take courses, the MAP allows you to interview for a spot in the program. This particular program offers you longer and more in-depth technical knowledge than traditional programs. It’s set up like any job, so if you pass the interview process successfully, you will be granted a spot in the program where you will gain automotive knowledge and work for a Honda Canada employer.

Every eight weeks, you’ll alternate between classroom study and working for a Honda employer for a total of 32 weeks with each. The school portion of this program is held at Centennial’s Ashtonbee campus, which is the largest on-site transportation training facility in Canada. For 32-weeks, you’ll study core courses including: Drive Train Systems, Electrical/Electronic & Fuels, Engine Systems, Work Practices and Procedures and Suspension/Steering and Brake Systems.

The best part about any apprenticeship program is that you get to apply your classroom knowledge to the workplace right away. You’ll be treated just like a regular employee and get paid for all the work you put in.

The classroom knowledge that you learn will give you an advantage because you’ll learn specialized skills that relate directly to Acura and Honda products.

Honda is synonymous with innovation, green technology and advancement; it’s also more Canadian than you might think. This company employs over 4,300 Canadians nationwide and purchases over $ 1.1 billion in goods from Canadian suppliers annually. Honda Canada manufacturing has enjoyed a successful 25 years of operation. While the company has a long lineup of cars, Canadians have embraced the Ontario-made Civic and made it the top passenger car sold for 13 years running! This company also prides itself on its commitment to energy efficient practices. Its Canadian plant recycles 99 per cent of its product waste—the first in North America to be able to make this claim. From hybrid cars to dealerships powered by wind turbines, this world-class company is regarded as one of the most fuel-efficient car companies, and is continually looking for the next innovation that produces a quality product while maintaining nature’s delicate balance.

If automotive training and working for a company that’s cutting edge appeals to you, starting a career as a Honda technician may be your perfect fit. This program is offered in all three academic semesters (fall, winter, summer) so you can start your career when you’re ready. To find out more about what this program offers you, discover more here.

Jason White, the author presents the advantages of pursing a Honda technician training from Centennial to become a professionally certificated and experienced Technician Honda.

Toyota Technician Training Includes Compensated Sessions

Imagine attending school to obtain Toyota Technician training and being compensated while you do it. It’s possible with Centennial College’s Automotive Service Technician Toyota MAP 32 apprenticeship learn-while-you-earn approach. This program works by having students alternate between on-campus lessons and sessions with an employer for a total of 64 weeks. While they are in school, students may be eligible for Employment Insurance (EI) and while they are with their employers, they are fully compensated. This makes Centennial College’s Toyota technician training ideal for just about anyone with an interest in the field.

In 2010, Toyota Motor Corporation employed 317,734 people worldwide and was the world’s largest automobile manufacturer by production. Working for this company is a great career choice for those who have a specific interest in vehicles such as the Camry, Prius, Yaris, Corolla and more. At Centennial College’s Toyota Technician training, students learn all about these cars so they are able to fully service them upon graduating and obtaining their certificates. Among the specific tasks students master at Centennial are: diagnosing problems using Toyota diagnostic equipment and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes and tires. They also become comfortable with conducting vehicle inspections. All aspects of vehicle technology are embodied in the program. The five specific courses technician students complete on campus are: Drive Train Systems, Electrical/Electronic & Fuels, Engine Systems, Work Practices and Procedures and Suspension/Steering and Brake Systems.

The in-school portion of the Toyota technician training is actually designed to mimic a real life workshop. This is possible because Centennial College is home to the largest transportation training centre in the province, Ashtonbee Campus, which includes all the latest tools used in the field as well as real Toyota vehicles on which to practice.

Aside from the practical and theoretical knowledge students of Toyota technician training gain at Centennial College, they also get to experience real-life scenarios that allow them to apply what they have learned while gaining new knowledge during their time with their employer. In addition they can learn to deal with customers and network with technicians employed by Toyota who know what the company is looking for in its employees.

Applicants to the Toyota technician training are required to possess at minimum an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent. In addition they should be employed by a Toyota dealership. Candidates may apply directly to Centennial College, with successful applicants obtaining an employer and registering as a MAP apprentice with the Apprenticeship Branch of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Students may apply to a maximum of three programs at Centennial College. As with any college program, there are a limited spots within Toyota technician training. When space permits, additional applicants who may not be employed by Toyota are selected through an interview process.

In this article, Klaudia writes about Centennial College’s Toyota technician training, which covers all aspects of vehicle technology.

On The Job X Ray Technician Requirements

There are x ray technician requirements that you will need to have in order to do this job.  You are going to have to go to school and once you get your education on x-ray technician you will have to have continuing education.  This is a career where things change often so you will have to be open to continuing your education on a regular basis.

Most employers are going to insist you have an associate’s degree and a certification.  To get this you will spend approximately two years at a college. Some of the work can be done online and at home while some will require a hands-on approach.  You will need to know how to do x-rays, MRIs and sonograms.  You will need to know how to maintain the equipment you use and you must know how to deal with patients.

Some states have x ray technician requirements too.  There are many states who will not give you their state license unless you have certification.  The AART are the ones who give you this certification.  You will need to take a test in order to get certified.  One of the reasons certification is so important is due to the fact you must get recertified every other year.  This means you will have to keep up on all of the new procedures and equipment that comes about as time passes.  With science there are always improvements and it is important that you learn about the improvements in your field.

Other x ray technician requirements deal with patients and patient records.  It is important to remember that you will be keeping records of patients that must be kept confidential.  You will need to be able to deal with patients on a regular basis.  Some patients may be apprehensive about having a procedure done.  It is up to you to keep them calm and to explain the procedure to them.  When a patient knows what to expect they will be less worried about having the x-rays done.  You will position the patient for the x-ray and will make sure the patient is protected against radiation. Remember to protect yourself as well.

Community colleges, universities, trade schools and medical centers will have the classes you need for x ray technician requirements.  You can take classes online to study for certification and re-certification.  It is important to find an institute that has an internship.  This makes it even better when you get your hands-on training from them.

The average salary for an x-ray technician is around 55,000 dollars a year.  Starting wages are usually around 27,000 dollars a year.  After your first year you can expect a nice raise in pay.  The more education you have the better your pay will be.  A specialist in the field will earn more than a regular tech.  If you have a bachelor’s degree you will earn more than that of someone with an associate’s degree.  With a bachelor’s degree you will be able to work as a supervisor or you may have chosen to do a specialty in x-rays.  Perhaps you would like to work on ultra sounds or sonograms for a living or you may prefer to perform MRIs.

Want To Be A Certified Pharmacy Technician?

Many people each year are faced with the decision on whether they should become a certified pharmacy technician.  Odds are good that they have heard that getting certified can help their career whether it be the increase in starting pay or the opportunity to interview for more selective employers.  Either way, this often leads to them wanting to get some more knowledge on what it takes to become certified.  Here, we take a closer look at this issue to help them know what they are getting into.

To get this certification, you will need to get an education at a pharmacy tech school.  There are a number of these schools around the country and they can be found by simply doing a basic Internet search.  These schools will offer classes in both online courses and in person classroom courses in your area.  The online courses offer the benefit of allowing people to more easily fit these classes into their schedules.  This is perfect for those who have to watch children or have a current working schedule with erratic hours.  It also has the convenience of being able to take the classes from home which helps cut down on gas costs and time spent traveling to a in person classroom.

Of course, taking the in person classroom courses have their advantages too.  These classes can make it easier for people to stay focused on the material as it more closely mirrors the standard educational process that most have grown up with.  In addition, they can better participate in lively class discussions and more easily ask questions of their professor since they are physically there.

Aside from deciding from what type of class you would like, you will need to make sure the program fits your budget and can be completed within your schedule.  Some courses like the online courses offer great flexibility in the length of the course as they are often self paced; however, you can reasonably expect training will run anywhere from 3 months to a year.

After the training is completed, you should be well prepared to take the certification exam.  This exam is offered year round but it is smarter to take it right after the training ends to ensure maximum retention.  The exam itself is a multiple choice exam that will key on the knowledge learned in the training.  Incidentally, this training is geared towards many of the main job duties that pharmacy techs experience.

By keeping all these different things in mind, you should have a better understanding of the process to becoming a certified pharmacy technician.

What Do X Ray Technician Schools Teach?

If you are interested in becoming an x-ray technician you will want to check out different x ray technician schools.  Although part of the classes can be done online there is much that will require hands on application.  There are all sorts of machines you will have to learn to operate.  You will also have to learn how to read x-rays.  Becoming an x-ray technician can take from one to four years.  If you want to get a bachelor’s degree in this you will need to attend school for four years.  Most people go for two years and have an associate’s degree in x-ray technology.

Some people will take their schooling even further by becoming a specialist in a particular field of x-ray technology.  You will go to x ray technician schools for a short time longer than a bachelor’s degree.  Many people who go to specialty training are aiming for a higher degree and better paying job.  They can get this with specialty training.

Recertification must be done if you become certified in x-ray technology.  Becoming certified is voluntary although many states will not issue a state license unless you are certified.  You will have to get recertified every two years in order to stay licensed.

X ray technician schools are busier than ever and well they should be.  It is believed there will be a big increase in the need for x-ray technicians in the next few years.  The baby boomers are reaching an age where they are in need of x-rays, mammograms, and sonograms.  These are all jobs that are done by the x-ray technician.  As long as there is a need for these tests there will be a need for the tech that performs these tests.

An x-ray technician will read x-rays and perform the tests needed.  He will be responsible for explaining the readings of the tests that are done.  He will have to be able to speak to patients and explain how their tests came out.  It is important that they have a personality that will allow them to get along with many people in a day.

The places that hire the most x-ray techs are hospitals.  It is because of hospitals, medical centers, diagnostic imaging centers and dental offices that the need for so many x ray technician schools is needed.  With hospitals being the places that can afford the expensive machinery such as an MRI machine or x-ray machines they will employ more people at this very important job.

It is an important job.  Without the x-ray technician, doctors and surgeons would not know what was going on inside the body.  With the help of an x-ray technician a doctor is able to tell if a bone is broken or if something is wrong with one of the organs of the body.

The x-ray technician is well paid with most receiving over 50,000 dollars a year.  Many specialists in this field will receive over 75,000 dollars a year.  The need for x-ray techs is growing every year and a large increase in the need is expected now.
