5 Signs that say your Air Conditioning Technician is not qualified

Before you hand over the responsibility of servicing your AC unit to a technician, you need to know that the technician is qualified enough to take care of the device. You just cannot afford to let a rogue take care of a device on which you have invested your hard earned money. Now what are the symptoms that will tell you that you have bumped against a technician who is not qualified enough to take care of your AC unit and it best to part ways.

The technician does not have any valid license

Each and every HVAC technician working in your state must have a valid license provided by Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors Advisory Board or any similar type of government regulated body. The license proves that the technician in question is qualified and is licensed to work in your state of residence. If the technician fails to show any such license it is a clear indicator that he does not have the required qualification to service your purpose.

The technician has changed job quite frequently

If the bio data of the technician shows that he has quite frequently changed jobs from one company to another and cannot provide any credible reason behind his actions that means he was either fired from the companies for underperformance or he does not have required qualification to meet the minimum requirement standards of the companies and hence was compelled to change jobs from one company to another.

If there are too much negative feedback from previous clients

Before zeroing on a particular technician, you need to check back the feedback he has received from his previous clients. You will find no one without any negative feedback. However, if you find that the technician you have opted for has received a bit too many negative feedbacks and a majority of them puts a question mark on his competency as a technician it is a clear indicator that the person is not qualified enough for this kind of job.

Lack of vision and lack of knowledge

Qualified and experienced technicians will provide you a lot of inputs and tips of maintaining your AC unit. They will thoroughly explain the functionalities of the units and advice you about the dos and don’ts pertaining to operating of the unit. If the technician you have opted for fails to do that and does not provide you any suggestion or instructions even upon being asked, or if he looks confused while providing solutions that is a clear indicator that the person is not qualified.

If the technician fails to get you any discount

Qualified technicians always are able to get their clients special discounts and some attractive packages while purchasing the units or the spare parts thereof. If the technician has no such ability that is a clear indicator that he does not qualify to be a HVAC technician who will be able to help  you out in the hour of your need.
